Dawn is very involved in the arts in Lloydminster and has been since moving there in 1985. She taught middle years visual arts for 25 years, creating with India ink, acrylics and art photography in her own practice. Jewelry became her main art form in 2006.
"My journey in jewelry making began when I admired the watch of a co-worker. I thought, 'I could make that!' and off to the bead store I went. I made a watch... And then several other pieces of jewelry. I was hooked. A few months & supply purchases later, my handsome banker husband insisted I start selling. I did... and my jewelry business began on an antique desk in our basement. I now have a beautiful, well-equipped, large studio where I create."
Dawn's work has evolved into her own style of jewelry inspired by architectural details, water in all of its forms and by the personal stories of those who order pieces from her.
